was held on

November 5th, 2005

You had to be there to experience it.  It was electrifying!

After a short program Thanking those Veterans attending, we started the dance with 11 squares (with at least 1 square not dancing) and ended the dance with 9 squares (with at least 1 square not dancing).

The following is a brief summary and comments regarding the dance.

Wagon Wheel Members and Friends:

I take pen in hand (now days they call it a computer) and want to thank you for all your help and support for  for our November 5th, Veterans Dance.  Our team worked like a well greased gear.  The support from the rest of the Club and the Veterans was absolutely the best.

We had a total of 34 Veterans at the dance,

We had 19 Wagon Wheel Veterans and 15 Veterans that were guests,

5 Wagon Wheel members who are Veterans were not present at the dance,

We had 29 Military stories from Members, Students and Guests,

1 story that got lost someway and was not there and that would of made 30 Stories,

20 stories were from Wagon Wheel members, and

a special Thanks to the Flag bearers and the Wreath carriers, they looked like they had a lot of practice.   NOT!

We started the dance with 11 squares and ended with 9 squares

The committee put together a pretty good program, but, the atmosphere was what made the dance so special.  There was some kind of electricity in the air.  But of course we had the bestest subject.

We had very good feed back and comments.  One of the old time dancers said that it was the very best dance he had attended, but again it was the subject.  Another Viet Nam Veteran said that he had been spit upon, received obscene jesters, called baby killer along with many other “niceties” and this was the first time he had been THANKED.

That alone said that we did something right.

Thank you from the Dance committee for your support.
