Editor's Column

This is the last Wagon Tracks issue for the 2009-2010 dance season.  Although our last dance will be on June 5th, there are many dancing opportunities throughout the summer to keep our “dancing skills” refreshed.  Ellensburg will be hosting the Washington State Festival on June 18-19; the Leadership Seminar will be held at Circle 8 Ranch in Cle Elum on July 10-11; Wayne Easton will be the Caller at Circle 8 Ranch in Cle Elum on  July 17-18.  There will be free Seattle Center dances on July 23rd and August 14th.  Wayne Easton will be calling at the July 23rd dance.  Check the website or dance publications.  Some clubs have dances throughout the summer.

As you do your “Spring Housecleaning” save usable items for the Yard Sale at Meridian Grange in August.  Contact June Mehl for the exact date.

Vice President's Report

We are coming to an end for this years dances.  New classes begin September 21st.  So members, try to think of someone to invite to join us at our lessons.  It has been good seeing our students on Wed at Kevin’s classes and also the club members that have been attending.  Glad to see Larry Kiel at dances even though he can only do round dances at this point and only a couple of them.

President's Report - June 2010
On April 17th, we had 56 members and 17 guests signed in for the dance.  Wayne called the dance with Andy Garboden as our guest caller.  Randy cued the dance and the 6:30 workshop.  A big thank you to those three for a great dance!  Our hosts were Craig & Wendy Duckering and Paul & Kathy Feider.  Thanks for all your work.  We had guests from Ring-N-Swings, Pi-R-Squares and one guest couple from Pennsylvania.
On May 1st, the May Day Dance, we had  45 members and 19 guests.  Wayne and Andy called the dance with Randy cueing.  Our hosts were Karen Anzalone, Mary Schott, and Dean & Alice Watkins.  We had guests from Enumclaw Spinners, Evergreen Rounds, Pi-R-Squares, Do-Si-Dos, Ring n’ Swings and Boots & Laces.  Thanks to everyone for all your hard work in making these dances a success!
A reminder of the May 22nd Mystery Caravan coming right up.  See page 6 in the newsletter for more information.  Also, our club picnic will be on August 22nd this year and again, hosted by the Petersons.  A big thanks to Clint and Judy for hosting.
We are still planning on joining the other clubs in the yard sale sometime in August as an additional fund raiser.  June Mehl is our Chairperson for this event, so be thinking of what valuable items you can part with and someone else can’t live without!
We are also planning on putting on a square dance demonstration at the Maple Valley Farmers Market on July 31st for about an hour and a half.  The main purpose of this event is to attract more people to square dancing.  Phil Wills has volunteered to be our Chairperson for this event.
Be sure to sign up for a time to help out with the   Fireworks Stand.  Sign up sheets will be available at the next two dances.

THANK YOU and SQUARE EM’ UP   - Steve -
